"I gave this agency a try for a renters policy on one of my properties based on a recommendation from GEICO, and my experience was disappointing. When the policy was sold to me, I was never asked whether I wanted personal property coverage. Instead, they added $68,000 in personal property coverage that I did not need, which increased the cost of my policy. Then, when the renewal came around, it appeared the same thing was happening again. When I questioned it, the owner explained that this is how they sell it because otherwise they would need a signed form declining that coverage. That should have been clearly explained upfront. Personal property coverage and sinkhole loss coverage were two of the main items that should have been clearly discussed with me before being included, since both increased the cost of the policy. In January, I also contacted the office for a homeowners quote. The quote included more coverage than I actually wanted, and I was told they could not write it for less because of what their system required. I ended up going with another agent. I also found the customer service lacking. When the policy was due, they would not send me mitigation information, which other agencies often provide as a courtesy. When I asked the owner about it, I was told they did not have time for that. Overall, my issue with this office was the lack of transparency, poor communication, and limited customer service from Angie my rep. Based on my experience, I decided not to continue doing business with this agency."

Coverages such as personal property are typically included by default, if a client chooses to decline them, a signed selection form is required. This is a compliance requirement, not something unique to our office. Regarding your homeowners quote, we are bound by underwriting guidelines and system requirements that determine minimum coverage levels. While we always aim to tailor policies as closely as possible to a client’s preferences, there are limits to how much coverage can be adjusted. We do our best to provide timely service to all clients, while also prioritizing those with active and comprehensive policies through our third party channels.
